The European standard (EN 12566-3:2005+A1:2009) has been prepared by the Technical Committee CEN/TC 165 “Wastewater engineering”, the administration of which is held by the German Institute for Standardization (DIN). It provides the general requirements for packaged and/or site assembled treatment plants used for domestic wastewater treatment up to 50 PT. The following countries were bound to implement this European standard by July 2009: Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and United Kingdom.

Domestic wastewater is liquid waste generated during human domestic activity. It includes wastewater from bathrooms, water closets, sinks, washing and dish washing machines.

VFL technology wastewater treatment plants treat wastewater contaminated with organic and chemical pollutants (these are various detergents, washing means and other household products).

Small treatment plants AT6-50, up to 50 PE (population equivalent) treat the volume of sewage wastes at a rate of 0.54 up to 7.5 m³ per day, when the wastewater is received from:

  • A Single Homes,
  • Apartment,
  • Hotels and Boarding Houses,
  • Restaurants,
  • Schools,
  • Camping Sites,
  • Farms & Rural Settings,
  • Small-scale Companies, etc.

The advantages of the patented "August ir Ko" UAB wastewater treatment plants:

 

- High treatment efficiency with biological nitrogen and phosphorus removal and disinfection;

- no smell - aerobic conditions maintained in upper layer of compartments, even in anaerobic compartments;

- not sensitive to peak-flows - due to patented integrated retention chamber and flow control device;

- low operation costs - electric consumption only 208kWh/year for an individual house (4PE);

- low excess sludge production - only 1m³ of excess sludge every year from an individual house (4PE);

- the WWTP can be without wastewater up to 180 days on a standard regime, so it won't cause any problems to you when planning holidays or long journeys.

- can operate in all value weather conditions. The content of the tank volume doesn't freeze because of the biological processes going on;

- Conform to highest ecological standards and makes no harm for the nature;

- low investment expenses - because of simple and practical design, low tank volume, esasy to transport;

- no mechanical mixing in the anaerobic zone - the only mechanical equipment in the system is the air blower;

- doesn't need much space and doesn't damage the esthetic look of the environment.

- Wastewater treatment parameters are available as of the moment the plant is started.

- The water treated in "August ir Ko" UAB wastewater treatment plant can be reused as service water.
